Happy New Year, Developers! January doesn’t just usher in 2023, but also the Utah Release Season! If this happens to be your first time going through an upgrade season, you may be thinking to yourself, “what does that mean, exactly?” Allow me to explain!

Bi-annually, when ServiceNow launches a new version of our Platform, a couple of critical events occur…

  1. ServiceNow will officially announce the Early Access (EA) release date - for Utah, EA will be February 2nd 2023.
    • Unless your company registered for the EA Release Program in the months prior, this will not impact your corporate instances
    • EA Release Day does apply to PDIs though - for instructions on how to upgrade your PDI, click here
    • For more information about the Early Access Release Program, click here.
  2. Our team will schedule our TechNow webinar on the day as the EA Release - the Utah TechNow livestream will be on February 2nd 2023 at 8AM PT, click here to register
  3. Following TechNow, there will be 8-10 weeks of content put out by our Developer Advocacy team on all of the new features and enhancements for developers on ServiceNow
    • To accomodate as many people as possible, we create content in a variety of formats (e.g. written blogs, auditory podcasts, videos, and livestreams)
    • For the first time ever, thanks to the addition of Pranav Baghat to our team, we will now be splitting our livestream times to accomodate timezones outside of the Americas!
  4. At some point, ServiceNow will officially announce the General Availability (GA) release date - for Utah, the GA will be March 22nd 2023

This blog entry is here to serve as your guide to bullet #3 - the upcoming weeks of content dedicated to the Utah release. Below, you will find the calendar organized sequentially as well as by product. Following the date, you will see an acronym referring to the format the subject will be discussed in. Here is a quick breakdown of what each of those refer to and a short link to navigate to previously posted content of that variety…

  • Blog: Written news and technical content (devlink.sn/blog)
  • BP: The ServiceNow Developer podcast. Topics include product discussions with ServiceNow product managers, customer and partner developer journeys, and career tips (devlink.sn/break-point)
  • CTB: A YouTube livestream where we demo new features and often feature guests from the Product Team (devlink.sn/ctb)
  • LCHH: A casual YouTube livestream where we grab a drink, unwind, and attempt to develop something we have not practiced before. It allows us to naturally run into debugging issues developers would typically encounter in real time (devlink.sn/lchh)

Thank you so much and we hope you enjoy the upcoming weeks and the Utah release as much as we have so far!
